The story
Most of the work comes from homeowners who have already had one bad tiling experience, a floor that sounds hollow underfoot, grout lines that drift off square, trim used everywhere a mitre should have been. They are not looking for the cheapest quote. They are looking for someone who will set the room out properly before a single tile is cut, and then stand behind it.
The rest comes from builders and developers who need several bathrooms finished to the same standard, plot after plot, without the standard slipping on the last one. James works to that repeatability as readily as he works on a one-off marble bathroom for a private client.
Seven years in the trade has narrowed the specialism rather than widened it: porcelain and large-format, natural stone, herringbone, mosaic, mitred edges, wetrooms and electric underfloor heating. Full bathroom refurbishments are delivered end to end, with a trusted network of electricians, plumbers and decorators coordinated by James so you deal with one point of contact from strip-out to handover.
The working area runs from the West Kent villages through the Medway towns and up to the South East London border, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, Chislehurst, Orpington, Goudhurst, West Malling and the towns around them.
Tiling that is set out before a single tile is cut, so cuts land where they should and grout lines carry through from one room to the next.
Full bathrooms, en-suites and wetrooms delivered end to end, with one person accountable from strip-out to handover.
The detail most tilers avoid: 45-degree mitred returns on niches, benches and steps, so the tile turns the corner instead of being capped with trim.
Standards
Every room is planned so full tiles land in the eyeline and cuts fall where they are least noticed. Agreed with you before adhesive is mixed.
Levelling, priming, tanking and testing take the time they take. They are also the reason a floor still looks right years later.
Exposed edges on niches, benches, steps and reveals are cut back to 45 degrees and closed, not capped with a plastic profile.
Tiling from £55 per m², usually priced as a fixed figure for the job, with payment released as each area completes.
On refurbishments James coordinates the electricians, plumbers and decorators, so the sequence is planned and you are not chasing trades.
If something about the workmanship is not right within the first year, James comes back and puts it right.
